No matter the time of day, there’s something for everyone at Kono’s Northshore.

OUR STORY

Our story starts with our CEO – With an iconic pig-on-a-surfboard logo, a ‘freshly made,’ creative, Hawaiian-inspired menu, and a bootstrap mentality, our CEO refined the Kono’s Northshore operating system and cooking methods.

Starting with the original restaurant in 2015, Kono’s Northshore expanded to four locations across Hawaii by 2020. In 2021, our CEO proved the brand’s success beyond Hawaii by opening a fifth location in Las Vegas, NV—an accessible destination for future growth. Today, our Las Vegas location serves as one of our franchise training centers, test kitchen for new menu items, and commissary for the Kono’s Northshore food truck.

The Kono’s Northshore journey continues, and we’re excited to announce the opening of our first franchise location in Houston, Texas!

OUR FOOD AND EXTRA ALOHA SERVICE

Our menu showcases the bold flavors of our award-winning, 12-hour slow-roasted pulled pork, served in bowls, bombers (burritos), sandwiches, plates, and salads. With handcrafted milkshakes, smoothies, and limeades, there’s something for everyone. We take pride in our house-made papaya seed dressing and guava BBQ sauce, along with our signature bottled hot sauces that perfectly complement our dishes. Our Surfing Pig-branded t-shirts, hats, mugs, and stickers allow guests to take a piece of Kono’s Northshore home while driving additional sales. More than just saying “Aloha” and “Mahalo,” Extra Aloha Service is about creating a warm, welcoming experience where every guest feels special—through genuine smiles and the true spirit of Hawaiian hospitality.

To those who thought opening a restaurant was out of reach due to such a high initial investment, we have found an avenue for you! Our interiors evoke a warm, humble surf shack-vibe with chalkboard menus and walls adorned with surfboards and island scenery. We are flexible in our buildout requirements and will share our model in resourcing 2nd generation restaurant spaces that can serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We invite you to browse the bios in the “Our Team” section.  You will find that our experience and accessibility will support all aspects of your investment in giving you the tools to operate and market your restaurant. Our goal is to support you in keeping your build out costs, including our franchise fee of $35,000, at or around $150,000.

Kono’s Northshore invites you in for an up close and personal look at our operation. Discovery Day is the time to ask questions and get a feel for how each Kono’s Northshore is operated.

Our training program is simple and straight forward, packed full with everything you need to know in order to operate, launch, and sustain your Kono’s Northshore franchise. Once you launch, our field support team is always here to help!

Next, our team will send you a copy of the Kono’s Northshore Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) for your review. You will have 14 days to review the document.

After the FDD review, this is the time to apply for financing if needed!

As we move forward, you will review our FA (Franchise Agreement), sign the appropriate documents, and make your franchise ownership official. You are now a Kono’s Northshore franchise partner!
